Unused is a word that we use to describe something that is not being used or that has not been used. It's like when you have a toy in your room that you never play with, we can say that it is unused. Another way to think about it is when you have a piece of paper and you haven't written or drawn anything on it yet, that paper is unused.

When we say something is unused, it means that nobody has used it or it hasn't been used for a long time. Let's say you have a book that you got as a gift but you've never opened it, that book is also unused because you haven't read it or used it.

Now, imagine you have a backpack with many pockets. Some of the pockets have things in them like your pencils, erasers, and books. But there are some pockets that have nothing in them, they are empty. These empty pockets can be called unused pockets because you are not putting anything in them, you are not using them.

In our everyday life, we come across many things that are unused. For example, there might be unused chairs in a classroom because there are more chairs than students. Or there might be unused buttons on a remote control because we only use a few of them to change the channels on the TV.

So, remember, when something is unused, it means that it is not being used or that it hasn't been used. It's like having a toy you don't play with, an empty pocket in your backpack, or a book that you haven't read.
