Unnatural for Dummies

Unnatural is a word we often use to describe things that go against what we would consider normal or typical. It's like when something seems strange or different in a way that doesn't fit with our expectations. This can apply to both objects and actions. For example, if you see a blue banana, you might say it looks unnatural because bananas are usually yellow. Or if someone is walking on their hands instead of their feet, you might describe it as unnatural because our natural way of walking is on our feet. In other words, it means that something is not occurring in the way that is typically seen or expected.

There is another way we use the word "unnatural" that refers to things that are not found in nature. Nature is all the living and non-living things that exist in the world around us, such as plants, animals, rocks, mountains, and rivers. So, if something is unnatural in this sense, it means that it is not naturally occurring or not part of the natural world. For example, a robot would be considered unnatural because it is man-made and not something that occurs in nature by itself.

So, basically, when we say something is unnatural, we're saying it seems strange or different from what we expect or that it doesn't fit into the natural world we know. It's like seeing a square-shaped watermelon or a dog that can talk – these things would be considered unnatural because they don't happen in our everyday experiences or fit into what we know to be normal.
