Unmilitary for Dummies

Unmilitary is a word we use to describe something that is not related to or characteristic of the military. It's like when you have a group of friends who all play basketball, but one of them likes to dance instead. That friend would be considered "unbasketball" because they don't do things that are typical of basketball players. Similarly, when something is unmilitary, it means that it doesn't fit into the usual activities, behaviors, or characteristics of the military.

Sometimes, the word "unmilitary" can also be used to describe something that is the complete opposite of what is expected in the military. It's like when a teacher tells you to line up quietly, but one student starts singing and dancing instead. That student's behavior would be considered "unteacherly" because it goes against what a teacher would usually do. Similarly, if a soldier decides to run away from the battlefield instead of fighting, their action would be seen as "unmilitary" because it is directly opposed to what is normally expected of soldiers.
