Tardy for Dummies

Tardy is a word that we use when someone is late or not on time. It's like when you miss the school bus because you didn't come out of your house at the right time. Or when you show up to class after the bell has already rung and everyone else is already sitting at their desks. When you hear someone say "She is tardy," it means that person didn't arrive at the expected time.

But tardy can also mean more than just being late. It can also describe someone who is slow or takes a long time to do things. It's like when you are working on a puzzle and it takes you a while to figure out where each piece goes. You might be called tardy because it takes longer for you to solve the puzzle compared to others who finish it quickly.

Being tardy doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad thing, though. Some people just have a different sense of time, and it's okay as long as it doesn't disrupt important events or make others wait for you for a very long time. However, being consistently tardy can have consequences, like missing important information or disrupting the flow of a class or activity.
