Ski Jumping for Dummies

Ski jumping is a thrilling sport that involves soaring through the air like a bird while wearing skis! Imagine sliding down a big hill, like a roller coaster, and then taking a big leap into the sky, feeling the wind rush past you as you float through the air. That's what ski jumping is all about!

When you go ski jumping, you start at the top of a large hill, called a ski jump, which is specially designed for this sport. The skiers slide down the slope with the help of their skis, gaining a lot of speed and momentum as they go. And then, at the bottom of the hill, they use a long ramp to launch themselves into the air.
