Potholed for Dummies

Potholed is a word we often use to describe the condition of a road or a path that has many holes in it. Imagine walking or driving on a road that looks like it has been beaten up by a giant with a sledgehammer. The pavement is no longer smooth and even but instead, it has deep pits and uneven surfaces. These pits, or potholes, are the result of wear and tear on the road over time, caused by factors like heavy traffic, extreme weather conditions, or poor maintenance.

Let me give you an analogy to help you understand it better. Imagine you have a bowl of oatmeal in front of you, and you take a spoon and start digging holes into it. Each time you dig your spoon into the oatmeal, it creates a pit or a pothole in the otherwise smooth surface of the oatmeal.
