Outdoor for Dummies

Outdoor is a word that we use to describe things, activities, or places that happen or exist outside of buildings and other enclosed spaces. You know when you step out of our classroom and you're in the playground or the schoolyard? That's being outdoor. When you go to the park to play on the swings, slide down the slide, or kick a ball around on the grass, you're doing all of that outdoor. Even when you take a walk in your neighborhood or go on a hike in the forest, those are all outdoor activities too.

But outdoor doesn't just refer to activities or places; sometimes we use it to describe things as well. For example, when we say "outdoor furniture," we're talking about chairs, tables, and lounges that are specifically made to be used outside, like in your backyard. These pieces of furniture are designed to withstand the weather and be comfortable for us to use while spending time in the fresh air and sunlight.

So, in simple terms, outdoor means anything that happens or exists outside, away from the inside of buildings. Whether it's playing, walking, or even using special furniture, it's all about being out in the open rather than being indoors.
