Laurasia for Dummies

Laurasia is actually a really interesting word! It's not a word that we commonly use in everyday conversation, but it's a term that is connected to something really fascinating from our Earth's history. So, let's dive into it! Have you ever wondered how the Earth's continents looked like a really long time ago? Back when the dinosaurs were roaming the land and the world was a very different place than what we see today? That's when Laurasia comes into the picture! Laurasia was a supercontinent, which means it was a gigantic landmass made up of several smaller continents that were all joined together. It existed during a time called the Mesozoic Era, which was between 252 and 66 million years ago. Can you believe that? It's such a long time ago! Imagine drawing a really big jigsaw puzzle where you have to connect all the pieces together to form one massive picture. That's kind of what Laurasia was like, except instead of puzzle pieces, it was actual land masses. Now, Laurasia was made up of what we now know as North America, Europe, and Asia.
