Larger is a word that we often use to describe something that is bigger or greater in size compared to something else. Imagine you have two different bags of candies in front of you. One bag contains only 10 candies, while the other bag has a whopping 20 candies! In this situation, we can say that the second bag is larger than the first one because it holds more candies, making it bigger and greater in quantity.

But, my dear student, the concept of larger is not limited to just physical things like candies or objects. It can also be used to describe abstract things like numbers or ideas. Imagine you have two numbers: 5 and 10. Naturally, 10 would be considered larger because it is bigger than 5. Similarly, if you have two ideas or concepts and one is more important or powerful than the other, we can say that the stronger idea is larger or greater.

Now, sometimes, the word larger can also be used to compare things that are not physical or abstract. For instance, imagine you have two groups of friends. One group has 5 members while the other group has 10 members. In this case, we can say that the group with 10 members is larger because it has more people in it, making it bigger and greater in terms of the number of individuals involved.

So, my student, remember that larger refers to something being bigger, greater, or having more quantity when compared to something else. It applies to physical objects, abstract concepts, and even groups of people. Just like when we compare the size of different candies or numbers, we use the word larger to describe the one that is bigger or greater in some way!
