Hurriedly for Dummies

Hurriedly is a word that we use to describe how someone does something quickly, without wasting any time. It's like when you're in a rush to get something done and you move really fast to make sure you finish it in time. Imagine if you were playing a game against your friends and you only had a few seconds left to make a move before time runs out. You would probably move your game piece hurriedly to make sure you don't run out of time. Or think of when you're running late for the school bus and you have to pack your bag, put on your shoes, and grab your homework all at the same time. You would do all these things hurriedly to catch the bus.

But hurriedly can also mean that someone is doing something quickly because they are in a hurry or under pressure. For example, imagine if you were walking in the park and you suddenly noticed that it started raining. You would probably start hurriedly walking towards a nearby shelter to protect yourself from getting wet. Or think of when someone is very busy with work and they have a lot of tasks to complete. They might work hurriedly to finish everything on time because they have a deadline approaching. So, in simple words, hurriedly means doing something quickly and swiftly, either because you are in a rush or under pressure.
