Godliness is a word that describes the quality of being like or having the traits of God. Now, when we say "God," we mean the powerful and wise supernatural being that many people believe in. You know, the one who created the whole universe and everything in it! When we talk about godliness, we're talking about a way of living or behaving that is in accordance with the values and principles that people believe God has. It's kind of like trying to be the best version of yourself, with kindness, love, forgiveness, and all those good things.

Think of it this way:

Imagine you have a favorite superhero, someone you really look up to. This superhero is kind, brave, and always tries to do what's right. And you think, "Wow, I want to be just like my superhero!" So you start to imitate their actions - being brave and kind to others, helping people in need, and standing up for what you believe in. You're trying your best to be just like your superhero, to have their qualities and values. That's kind of what godliness is all about - trying to be like God, who many people see as the ultimate superhero!

But wait, there's more! There's another definition of godliness!

Godliness can also mean the state of being religious or devoted to a particular religion. It's like being deeply connected to your faith and living your life in a way that aligns with the teachings and beliefs of your religion. For example, if you're a follower of a particular religion, you might go to religious services, pray, follow religious rituals and traditions, and try to live your life according to the moral and ethical standards set by your faith. That's another aspect of godliness - being religious and devoted to your beliefs.

So, to sum it up:

Godliness means two things: (1) living or behaving in a way that reflects the qualities and values associated with God, kind of like being the best version of yourself and (2) being religious or devoted to a particular religion, following its teachings and living your life in accordance with its beliefs and values.
