Endozoan for Dummies

Endozoan refers to an organism that lives within the body of another organism. Let's break it down. Imagine you are a little critter that lives inside the belly of a big animal. You rely on this big animal for your food and shelter. In the same way, an endozoan is a tiny creature (like a parasite or a bacteria) that lives inside another animal or a person! Kind of like a tiny roommate that you can't get rid of.

So, for example, the bacteria that live in our gut and help us digest food are considered endozoans. They rely on our bodies to survive and in return, they help us out by breaking down our food. It's a mutually beneficial relationship, like roommates who take turns doing the dishes and paying the rent.

But, it's important to remember that not all endozoans are friendly roommates. Some can cause illness and harm to the host organism. So, just like with roommates, it's important to be mindful of who you're letting live inside your body!
