What does De-access really mean?

Hey there! So, "de-access" is kind of like an art of removing, taking out, or disconnecting a device or a catheter from a vein or an organ in the body. It can also mean to stop using or getting rid of something like a medical device, like when you don't need it anymore.

Imagine it like taking off a band-aid when you don't need it anymore or unplugging something from an outlet when you're not using it. It's basically the same concept, but in the medical field. So, when you de-access something, you're basically saying "Okay, we don't need this in here anymore, let's take it out!"
